Sarah Axford

Clinical Psychologist

Sarah views the cornerstone of psychological health as healing, awareness and flexibility of the ways in which we relate to ourselves, the environment and each other. Therapy can range from targeting a specific problem to an open-ended adventure of self development.

Sarah has been registered as a clinical psychologist for over a decade using a range of evidence-based methods tailored to individuals. Prior to this Sarah worked in counselling roles with various marginalised communities.

Collaboratively the two of you will explore difficulties and release constraints and unburden what is holding you back or out of alignment. Therapy has a compassionate, here-and-now focus on the emotional snags that generate unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling, relating, and behaving. This work may include resolving unfinished business from the past to access the vitality that is available to you now.

Sarah’s approach includes Internal Family Systems (Level 2), Deep Brain Reorienting (Level 1 & 3), Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy and other mindfulness based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Unless otherwise arranged adult in person and online sessions are 90 minutes duration costing $335.

Please note the service is for psychotherapeutic engagement. Sarah does not conduct sessions for the purposes of medico-legal reports (e.g., court reports), to meet any mandated legal obligations or third party funding such as Work cover, TAC or VOCAT.
